Arabistan: A region at the north of the Arabian Gulf, between the Shatt al-Arab and the Zagros Mountains. Termed Arabistan by the Safavid Emperors for its primarily Arabian population that migrated from Najd

Khuzistan: The older designation of the region termed as Arabistan. Later used to refer to the province north east of Arabistan. 

Mohammerah: The capital of the last emirate to rule Arabistan.

Bani Ka'ab: The dominant tribe of Arabistan from which two ruling confederacies emerged and governed. The Cha'b (the Al bu-Nasir clan) and the Muhaisin (Al Bu-Kasib clan) respectively.

Al Mirdao: The ruling dynasty of the Al bu-Kasib clan of the Mehaisin Confederation
