BIOGRAPHY

Khaz’al Bin Jabir Bin Mirdaw Bin Ali Bin Kasib, (18th August 1863 - 24th May 1936), the sixth Emir of Mohammerah from the Kasebite clan of the Ka’ab tribe, to which he is also Emir.

He is known officially as, Lieutenant-General H.H Sheikh Sir Khaz’al Khan bin Haji Jabir Khan, Sardar-i-Aqdas , Nusrat Al-Mulk, Mu’izz us-Sultana, Sardar-i-Arfa, Emir of Mohammerah and its dependencies, Shaikh ul-Mashayikh Bani Ka’ab, Overlord of the Mehaisan tribal confederation, Sardar of Shatt ul-Arab GCIE (3.6.1916), KCIE (15.10.1910), KCSI (22.6.1914).

He was the fifth and youngest son of Sheikh Jabir Bin Mirdaw, and his mother, Sheikha Noura, was the daughter of Talal Bin Alwan, head of the powerful Bawi tribe. He was born on the 18th of August 1863, in the village Qout Al Zain in the district of Abu Khasib in Basra and he ascended to the throne on 2nd June 1897 upon the death of his brother Sheikh Miz’al.
